Review: [3 Concept Eyes] Lip Lacquers and Creamy Lip Colors

Finally, I'm done with finals and have time for another post. Today is all about my experiment with 3CE lip lacquers and some more creamy lip colors. After getting the creamy lip color #7 Yippee, I thought this formula would be great for everyday lipsticks which didn't need to be long-lasting but are comfortable to wear. I got #2 Cotton Pie, #4 Joyce, #8 Ladi Dadi and #10 Roller Coaster. For lip lacquers, I picked the 3 shades that I was interested in the most: Show Time, Pink Boom and Back Stage. I bought all of these lip products from honestskin.com which I will tell you about at the end of this post.

!!!Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored post. I bought these products with my own money!!!

1. Lip Lacquers:  Show Time, Pink Boom, Back Stage

As usual, chic and pretty packaging that doesn't look (and feel) cheap.
Left to Right: ShowTtime, Pink Boom, Back Stage

Below are the lip lacquers on my lips with 2 ways of applying: center-out and full-on.

Top to Bottom: Show Time, Pink Boom, Back Stage

Rating (out of 5):

Color/Pigmentation:
Very bright and vibrant; super pigmented. All 3 colors are beautiful but it is because I like bold bright lips. So these colors might be too much for you if you prefer neutral lip colors. These are NOT lip glosses but liquid lipsticks.

Finish:
The finish looks glossy at first then dries to a beautiful semi-matte finish.

Longevity:
All it needs is a little time to set. If I just wipe it off right away it will come off, but if I let it set, it stains my lips! After a meal, if you don't want to just have the staining effect but the original look, you'll need to reapply.

Texture:
Very smooth and creamy when applied but these lip lacquers do dry out my lips. Besides applying lip balm (a lot) before the lacquers the first time in the morning, I always have to put on lip balm again whenever I need to reapply.

Application:
The applicator is too wide so it's harder to control the amount and how precisely I want to apply. I wish it came with the skinny applicator that lip glosses have. I find that after you pull the applicator out, you can just wipe the excess product back into the upper part of the bottle and then it's good to go. I also find that for a quick daily use, it's easier to apply on the inner part of lips, then use finger to spread outward (like the left side in my photos). If I want the full-on look, I will need a concealer pencil or a lip liner.

* Overall, I don't think I will reach these lip lacquers as much as I thought. The fact they're drying is a bit disappointing to me. Because the colors and the finish look on my lips are so pretty, I will still use it occasionally.

2. Creamy Lip Colors: #2 Cotton Pie, #4 Joyce, #8 Ladi Dadi, #10 Roller Coaster

Rating (out of 5):

Texture:
Creamy but not sticky! I don't need to use lip balm underneath. The weird thing is that these 4 shades of Creamy Lip Colors are not as buttery and don't glide on as easily as the #7 Yippee. I wonder if it is because these colors are lighter and I just feel that way.

Longevity:
Again, I don't expect these creamy ones to last long and I have to reapply after 2-3 hours.

Pigmentation:
Medium to full coverage.

Finish:
Smooth and shiny, but not as shiny as a gloss.

Color:
The colors are very true to the pictures on the website. Note that your computer's brightness might make the the colors on my lips look a bit lighter. Also, I find that the 3CE lip colors look lighter in real life most of the time b/c the model's skin color is very pale!

* As you can see, this time I chose all neutral shades of Creamy Lip Colors. This is very different from what I've been choosing so far as my lipstick colors; I'm a "bright-bold-lip" girl! I have a feeling that for creamy and glossy finish, neutral will look better on my big lips and fits daily use better (i.e. for school and work). That being said, I believe bright colors have to go with matte and semi-matte for me.

However, for everyday makeup I prefer the 3CE Glass Lip Colors which I already have 4 out of 6 shades: Glass Hot Pink, Glass Pink, Glass Coral and Glass Orange. You can read my reviews HERE and HERE. I'm gonna get the 5th one - Glass Red - very soon, hehehe. Why? They feel super moisturizing and lightweight and give natural sheer colors that (mysteriously) stain lips and build up after a few times reapplied throughout the day.

A little about Honestskin.com

Honestskin.com sells a lot of Korean brands that you're familiar with. I believe the store has just opened a few months ago since the owner/administrator really took his time to go around Korean cosmetic lovers' blogs and left a comment about the store. I love the fact they have so many discount events going on, or I have to say they always have some products on sale! The best thing about this online store is that they have the best price for 3CE - the brand I love! I guarantee their products are authentic because ... well, you know me, I bought a lot of 3CE from the official website stylenanda.com so I should be able to tell. I also like the fact the parcels always come well packed!

One thing you might not like is they don't have free shipping, at all! Actually, the more you buy the more you have to pay for the shipping (the least amount is $5 for 1-3 items). Check out the website for more info about the shipping fee. Also, the estimated delivery time is 7 - 24 days so you should expect that it will take as long as 3 weeks to come to your door.
